  • Whenever you hve a medication question, look it up on Lact-Med. That's the National Institutes Of Health's database on drugs and mother's milk. Far more accurate than any doc or pharmacy. Doctors and phamracists don't get training in this.

    Summary of Use during Lactation:
    The dosage of acyclovir in milk after valacyclovir is less than 1% of a typical infant dosage and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. No special precautions are required.
