Is your religion all about sex and homo(hetero) sexuality?

Really how often do you talk about homosexuality at church? Is it really the big deal we see it be today on CM? Is every sermon about sex?

I guess at least the Catholics are good today we have moved onto to bashing those who think God wanted man and woman.

We are allowed our own opinions as long as they agree with yours.

  • i went to church 3 times a week till i was 22...ive heard one sermon on homosexuality & one Bible class. then as a teen there were a TON of "dont have sex until marriage" lessons taught, but nothing after graduation.

  • We don't talk about it. A sin is a sin. Some people just make one sin worse than another. Homosexuality is the least mentioned sin in the Bible. Most don't even know which sin God says disapoints him the most. It's not being gay. But someone who lies is no better or worse than someone who is gay in the Eyes of God. At least that is what they teach at my church.

  • We don't but we have groups that do go into San Francisco to minister to the homeless and other kinds of people there. Its an amazing church that knows the power of Grace, Love and Finished Work of the Cross. Proverbs 6: 16There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, 18A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, 19A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers. NASB

16-19 Here are six things God hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion:
eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent,
a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family. The Message

Well of course - it's so much easier to ignore your own pride and gluttony when you're focused on someone else's "adultery"

And mine really doesn't give a damn who you do...

  • we never talk about it at our church. we know it's not how the lord wants it through the proclamation to the world that was given to us as parents to our children & our partners. we do believe it to be a sin but like the lord would have us do is how we treat the sinners. is to hate the sin and not the sinner. although i have found that the sinners avoid church & fall away. not cause of anything we say or do cause we don't say anything agaisn't it. i think it's cause they feel ashamed knowing it is wrong. we find that when sinners are actively sinning they don't attend church. when they have enough faith that the lord will accept them & we will too is when they come back or never stray but sadly this doesn't happen. sometimes it's really hard to forgive ourselves & return. my brother is gay & hasn't attended his faith in yrs. although he knows that it's true. he says he just wouldn't feel right as if it's a slap in gods face.
