Should the government start a program which would give single mothers the opportunity to become stay-at-home moms for a few years until the child is ready to go to school?

  • Absolutely. What's best for children is best for society, and it should be obvious to anyone that it's in the best interest of a child to be raised by a full-time loving mother rather than an understaffed childcare farm. If a mother wants to go to work for her own personal fulfillment she should have that right, but if she wants to be there for her kid we owe it to that child that she have that option.

Besides, if a low-income mother is working a minimum wage job, chances are her young child is in a government-paid childcare facility, and we're also likely paying the medical bills for all the time that child spends ill.
