What do you think about leaving Christmas decorations up all year long? Do you do it? Why/why not?

I always see lights on houses spring, summer, fall! i'm guessing people just leave them up because they are so much trouble. but it looks kind of silly. am i the only one who thinks so? :)

  • I don't like to see the lights still attached to the roofs of homes, but I do understand the problem with putting them up and taking them off at such great heights. I just think it's terrible when some parts of the strands come loose from their holdings and don't get tacked back up by Christmas.
I've never seen anyone turn on their Christmas lights after about 2 weeks after the new year, thank goodness, but we live in a neighborhood where most neighbors have tact.

  • OP here, i always see the icicle kind still up, so they hang down quite a bit and are pretty noticeable. yeah at least they don't turn them on. lol.

oh and where we lived before we had a couple neighbors that would put up their halloween stuff in september, and they were the big blow up things, then they had a christmas one they would put up in november, so giant blow up things for 4 months of the year. lol.

  • The only thing we leave up all winter is a wreath, but it's more winter style. Leaving the full on decorations is a bit tacky.
