how does ur cervix feel when ur not pregnant?

  • Not always. During your cycle it changes. Around the time of ovulation it points more upward, is softer (like your lips, pursed for a kiss) and slightly open.

  • It depends on where you are in your cycle. Just after your period, it's firm, closed, and low (easier to reach). It gradually gets softer and higher, and in the 2-3 days prior to ovulation, when you're most fertile, it's soft, open, and high (to the point where some women can't reach it at all). After ovulation, it immediately goes back to the low, firm, and closed position. If pregnancy occurs, it might go back to the high position but remain closed (not sure about firmness), but that's not usually a reliable method to determine pregnancy.
