eye color?

Ok.. so my DD has really pretty blue eyes.. which i've been told most newborns do. She's 3 months. I have hazel and my bf has brown. Most of the people on his side of the family have blue.. does this have any significance? I keep thinking that there is no way her eyes will stay this color, but a couple of people have looked at them and said they prob won't change.

  • Babies eye's can change color up to 6mths; Usually they are born with brown or dark blue. If brown they usually stay but dark blue can change.

  • My daughter had beautiful blue eyes....and I thought they wouldn't change. They now have a tiny outer ring of blue but the rest is a really light brown color. They're still beautiful.

  • When DD was born the outside of her eyes were brown and the inside was blue. I thought she would have brown eyes like her daddy, but they turned blue like my brother and my daddy. When her daddy came by yesterday he said he thought they looked hazel like mine. Right now they are blue and sooooooo pretty. I hope they stay blue. I like brown hair girls with blue eyes. LOL
Oh and she is 4 months and so far they haven't changed since she was born

  • What color her eyes end up depends on whether your boyfriend passed on his brown- or blue-eye gene. And it could take quite a while to determine the permanent color. My kids will all have light-colored eyes (blue or hazel) because my husband and I both do, but with brown in the mix, there's a bit more guesswork. My cousin's daughter's eyes didn't turn brown until she was over a year old. But some babies' eyes turn brown by the time they're 2 months. There's no telling.

  • I have blue eyes and DH has brown. DD #1 had beautiful blue eyes up until she was almost 2....but then they started changing. Now they're a (lovely) medium brown. DD #2 is 16 mo. old and still has blue eyes. We'll see what happens!
