  • Nobody, not even an infant has ever died or overdosed from THC, the health concern comes from additives and your own lungs.

Some doctors would love to prescribe marijuana to women with severe morning sickness.

Learned from UW Wisconsn Hospital physicians during nursing clinicals.

  • No, because they are not going to do a study on potsmoking breastfeeding women. Not being judgemental but if you can't give weed up, then just err on the side of caution and give your child formula. I never thought there would be a circumstance in which I would believe formula to be the better choice, lol.

  • IMO, weed and breastfeeding is like drinking and bf -- there's no reason to take a risk that our babies are getting drugs into their system. Its a pump and dump moment.
When I was bf. if I had some wine or whatever I'd pump and dump for 12 - 24 hours after.

Its just that why intro something into a babies system. KWIM.

  • It shouldn't be done-its not good for anyone, especially babies. I am amazed that anyone at CM would ever think about it since everyone is a fanatic about breastfeeding and so against formula--they say your baby suffers from health and mental problems if they are fed formula and NOW you are asking about POT? LOL. how ignorant. Smoking cigs or weeds, drinking booze and not eating well WILL damage your baby.Or make them sit around smiling and smoking, when they are grown ups, not caring about working or learning. Heh.

  • It amazes me how many people buy into the baseless fearful propaganda from the gov't!!! Marijuana is a God provided healing herb. Even right down to our natural earth grown provisions....people STILL deny and refuse God!!

    Sad.....really sad. *sigh*

  • Here are some facts about THC and the act of smoking anything

    1. Smoking anything, cigarettes, ceremonial herbs, pot, dust bunnies, blankets, etc will put CO and CO2 into your lungs. That's bc burning things make CO and CO2-- this is dangerous to the person inhaling smoke. CO and CO2 will not go into your breast milk. People who breathe bad air can have a hard time breastfeeding bc their milk production decreases.

    Bad air quality info http://blog.thenatureschild.com/2009/07/smog-chokes-childrens-intellect-too.html

    2. THC is a fat-soluble compound. Any fat-soluble compound (petrochemicals from pesticides, hormones in conventionally farmed meat, BPA, formaldehyde, etc) can leach into breast milk from the mother's body. So if you cook with it instead of smoke it, your baby will get some.
