Is there anything vegetarian similar to tuna?

I love tuna! But I am trying to give up all meat.

  • tofu. It comes in main forms and is suppose to be tastless. My veggie daughter rarely eats it though.

  • Live "Tuna"
    Soak 2 cup of Sunflower Seeds for 2 hours
    Place Sunflower seeds in a Food Processor
    with 3 stalks of Celery
    1/2 sweet Onion
    1 red pepper
    Diced to a Paste
    Place mixture in a large bowl
    Season with O' Bay Seasoning to taste
    Add relish and Mayo
    For a Live Vegan Mayo
    1 cup Almond
    1 cup water
    1/4 cup Olive oil
    1/2 lime juiced
    2 dates
    Blend till smooth and creamy
    Add water if needed
    Add to Tuna Mixture

  • There's a pretty good tuna salad made from mashed chickpeas, mayo, powdered kelp, and a number of other things. I don't have a recipe handy but if you google "vegetarian tuna salad" you'll find a bunch of different recipes. Just look for one that seems similar to the way you like your tuna now.

    There was also a product called Tuno but I think I heard that had been discontinued. May Weh (I think that's spelled right) makes a variety of veggie fish analogs as well as various other faux meats. Their website is, just one 'g'. I don't believe I've ever had their fish but their spare ribs are to die for.
