  • i don't think anyone could ever become one with God though many wish they could. He is supreme over all things including us itty bity humans.

I think that if people follow the way of the messengers then they can attain methods of attaining closeness/nearness to the Creator but never reach that state of becoming One. However i also believe that God sent a final revelation which abrogated all books and religions before it and after it because it was sent to all mankind until the final hour and in it declared that no other religion will be accepted except Islam. However everyone has a right to willfully choose what they will and will not follow. Hence the many religions, beliefs, philosophies and non beliefs.

  • I don't think that's a bad thing. It's a start and a whole lot better than someone who doesn't believe in anything. If they believe He's a state of mind then they open themselves up to the opportunity to have a relationship with Him so they'll get there, in time. God will see to it!

  • A lot of people out there think God is everything/everyone and we just have to reach a certain level of spirituality and consciousness in order to become our OWN God.

  • God is not just a "state of mind." He is Spirit and He is real. There is but one way to God and that is through is Son, Jesus Christ. "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your heart, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son: and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Galatians 4:4-7 And "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." John 14:6-7

  • Well I MIGHT have agreed with the God being a "state of mind" thing but not in the instance you have provided but rather it is a state of mind in that god can be whatever one wishes it to be. In other words a philosophical point of view which is based on an individual's own learning and experiences, etc.

  • He is the father of all states-of-mind--our mind created him in our own image, not the other way around.

  • The God and Goddess (ALL gods and goddesses) are real aspects of the Divine One.

Happiness is a state of mind, Joy is a state of soul.
