  • yes, but mix it, start off 1/2 and 1/2 then decrease the formula from there

  • She's probably fine. My kids were on soy for puking, and by 11 mos they were on regular whole milk. They did just fine! Try it. You'll know if it doesn' t work. But you won't know until you do.

  • Her pedi. will let you know when to start that and how to do it. At her 12 month doctor visit.

  • You can start transitioning her slowly. That's what I did with my daughter. Start with 2 oz of real milk and 6 oz of formula in her bottle one week. Next week 4 oz milk and 4 oz formula, and so on until she is only having milk. You do this to get her stomach used to the cows milk.

  • always check with your dr first. but our son is almost 11 months old and hes already drinking 2 % milk. the dr said it was ok since he refuses to drink formula anymore.

  • At a year it is recommended so I don't see why one month would matter, especially if she isn't wanting her soy anymore.

  • No. Her body may not be able to digest and assimulate cow's milk. Cow's milk is for baby cows and is very different from human milk. It can hurt a baby's liver and kidneys. It's not worth the risk.

The biggest developmental task in the first year is brain growth. Human milk is best for this. That's why brestfed children have higher IQs, studies have shown about 10 IQ points. Cow's milk formula is second best and soy formula third best. Your daughter has already been getting third best. Cow's aren't too smart, soy beans aren't smart at all. Giving her something she can't digest well could set her even further behind

If she couldn't have cow's milk formula she shouldn't have cow's milk at all, EVER. Doctors shouldn't put babies on soy milk unless there are big problems with cow's milk problems. Soy formula has lots of problems.

Call her doctor and ask what to do since she shouldn't have milk EVER.
