  • Sorry, I meant to add, IF the baby is 5 weeks old then no that's not normal. IF it's 4 months + than I think 1 lb a month is acceptable.

  • My baby was born at 7lbs 3ozs, and is up to 8lbs 4ozs. She will be 3 weeks tomorrow and her Dr is quite happy with this. I would ask your Dr because only 13ozs sounds a bit on the lowside.

  • OK. Remember that week one is loss week. Up to ten percent of birth weight is lost. Have you included that in your figures?

    Look for a gain of 4-6 ounces per week. The gain you list isn't all that bad if it's from BIRTH weight. If it's 13 ounces from LOWEST weight, it's about three ounces light. Not bad but increase the feedings.
