Can someone explain "superfoetation" and how someone can get pregnant twice within a few weeks?

I have been watching the news lately- and that couple that is on where the wife got pregnant twice within 3 weeks. Please explain how that happens? Does that mean that she released another egg after getting pregnant with the first baby and had sex while 2 weeks (technically 4 weeks pregnant) and having the other egg fertilized-- or were both eggs fertilized from the "original intercourse" and then one implanted and the other egg kind of hung around for a few weeks until it implanted?

Thanks
