is it normal for a 5 year old to lose molars

she has lost molars and new ones are coming in i'm baffled

  • By the time your child is 6 or 7 they should be getting some permanent molars in .  However,  she should not be losing any.  You need to take her to the dentist to see what's going on.

  • I agree... at 5 only a small % of children lose their very front teeth much less molars... if your 5 yo is losing molars already there may be some sort of decay going on. At the very least a dentist should be sure that the new molars aren't going to cause too much over-crowding in your child's still tiny mouth.
