Just out of curiosity, why do people "bump" answers?

I know what it means, but wouldn't it make more sense just to skip the question? Or is it just a sign of respect like "hey wanted to let you know I read your question but sorry I don't have an answer"? I don't know, just curious :)

  • Hi,

When you view a group's forum, posts are listed in the order of when the last reply was added.

When someone posts "bump" in a reply to a post, they are bringing the whole thread to the top of the group so more people will see it.

  • well sometimes if the person wants to keep an eye on the question, bumping it keeps the question on or near the first page so others can see it and answer it.
