  • Look for a liscensed daycare. CHECK the local business liscense and MAKE sure they are liscensed and INSURED and see if there have been any DCF violations. I used to live in Florida and childcare there has been a nightmare of late in the news. Also POP into the day car instead of making an appointment to come in at nap time. If the kids are running all over the place crying and there are few empployee's or they are out back smoking, then you might not want to pay them an arm and a leg to neglect your child.

  • You should be able to get a county wide listing of all licensed centers and in home sitters. It will give you names, addresses, how many children they are licensed for, how many employees, if there are pets, etc. If you go to you can find licensed providers or they tell you to search the Florida Department of Family Services. Good luck in your search!
