  • So if you were to quit or be fired this week, next week you would get a (as in ONE) check and that would be the end of it, correct?

  • Yes. Next week would be the last check (unless it's bi-weekly then whenever the next payday is).

  • You get paid for what you have already worked...and you will get checks based on the pay cycle...say a m-sun cycle...if you quit/fired on tuesday---you would get one check for m-sun from the week prior and then from m-tues...they do not combine...now in some states if you quit the employer is required to pay you in total for the hours you are owed(the hours you worked)

    hope that helps...

  • Oh bumble bee, I understand how it works..And I thought it was common knowledge, but I have SOOOOOOO many employees that quit or get fired that INSIST they are owed the check "we held at the beginning" in addition to their final pay... Maybe its just because I work with men.. *shrug*

  • My husband is hourly.
He gets paid every 2 weeks (26 pays per year).
He is paid for the 2 weeks of work that has been completed.
