  • Yes. Bananas are constipating, and her little system isn't ready for solids anyway. The AAP recommends waiting until 6 months.

  • it may be, but most babies with fruit makes it easier for them to go. but let me say real quick, the jar food is just to teach them to eat, so give the bottle first than when she's done w/her bottle you can give her jar food. that way shes still getting all shes supposed to

  • her pediatrician told me i could start her on solids already,as she was not getting full with formula,if her doctor would said not to i wouldn't have started her on foods but she was also fussy wanting to eat more than just milk, i guess some babies are ready at 4 months others until 6.

  • YES , Banana's, Applesauce, Rice, and Toast,
Its part of the BRAT diet, and given when ANYONE is having diarreah.
So in a reg person, it can cause constipation.

  • Yes I am sure it is a major factor, but I am going to agree with the PP and say that 4 months is waaaayyyyyy too young for solids and that could also be causing digestive problems on top of it. Even the company says to wait until 6 months, closer to 12 would be better.

  • Anything other than breastmilk can cause constipation in a 4 month old. Sorry.
