  • first do u know the person? if not then wait to ship money first..if u do then never mind.. just bring it to your bank and deposit it. or u can go to wear the money order was done ( like say any shaws ) but banks consider it a 3rd party check so it could take 3-5 days after deposit to become avail to you. ( been there ) or even a check cashing place will do it for a fee..good luck.

  • Make sure its the same as the name on your driver's license. If it's from the US Post Office, you need to cash it there. If it's Western Union, any facility that has Western Union should be able to take care of you.

  • Beware with money orders. They are often used in those scams from Nigeria. A lot of times the bank will deposit the funds into your account before confirming the money is really available.
If it were not available, even after it cleared and you spent it, they will take it back. If you don't have it in your account they will come after you for it.

  • Ask for a Postal Money Order (issued by the post office). Take it to your bank, and make sure that it is good, before sending the merchandise. Even better, ask to be paid via PayPal
