(Kinda TMI) need advice.

ok so normally i keep myself pretty closed shaved down there, and since i cant see it anymore (34 weeks preg) i dont shave as often...to the question, i had some hair that had grown down there (and anyone who keeps it bald knows that when hair grows back it can be itchy down there) well it was itchy today and i scratched it... i think a little too much, i think to the point that i have irritated the opening area above the clitoris. so i went and took a shower washed it, shaved it and washed it again but it still feels kinda itchy and sore...should i talk to my doc about this? i have an appt thurs. or is it just kinda irritated? and if so anything to ease this irritation?

  • Ok Im 38 weeks so I so know what u mean. If at all possible let it air out at night and during the day put some itch cream on that area only. But be sure to clean it at night before bed so it can air out. Its just probably irritated and will get better over a few days. I did this a couple times and now I have learned to keep it shaved all the time. Mirrors work great for when you cant see to shave it or can't do blind shaving.

  • is it just itch in a certin area or in and around the hole? in around the hole maybe a uti. if just an area u couldve made it irrated sore by just scraching maybe u even nicked yourself when u scrached it. other then that u can just mention it to your doc..at 34 weeks they might check down theres anyways u never know..good luck. • i used to shave and i quit when i was about 3 months preg cuz i wanted to get the itching over with and i knew, of course that i wouldnt be able to see down there later. now i just trim it really good with the sissors and a mirror. yes, talk to your doc, maybe they can recommend a cream or something to fix it.

  • It sounds like you may have scratched it with the razor or maybe your fingernail. Do you have a hand mirror? That would probably allow you to see it. If it's itchy you could try some hydrocortisone (sp?) cream, or if it's painful some triple antibiotic with pain reliever may help. If it doesn't improve or go away within 2 or 3 days you could ask the doc to check it out. But chances are it's nothing serious and will go away all on it's own.

  • Mention it to be safe. If you can't see down there you might develop an infection from the scratch. Better safe than sorry.

  • witch hazel may also relieve the itching a bit. and triple antibiotic (neosporin) will help prevent any infection.
