Reaching above your head...

How far along into your pregnancy is it no longer safe to reach above your head?

  • It's an old wives tale that has no bearing on reality, at least in regards to the baby's umbilical cord. Raising your arms won't strangle the baby (they don't breath in the womb) and won't put knots in the cord either.
    On the other hand, any pregnant woman is wise to exercise some caution when reaching up and then pulling things down since that can affect your blood pressure, center of gravity, and sense of balance in surprising ways.

  • I did yoga thur my whole pregnancy and my DD is healthy and a term.
