anyone with group home experience look!

hello, iam a college student i graduate in november i went for computerized office administration
I want to work in a group home
ill be going to usc to go into the medical field next year
but im really interested in working in a group home
since i know how it is to be there when i was little

  • You can work in certain group homes while you are going to school.

    Get in touch with the mentor program from Orangewood Childrens Home.

    Are you from OC? They can guide you. They have many people doing the same as you, my brothers are 2 of them.

    Also you can help by joining the Foster Care Alumni Association.

    As a group we help make new laws about the care of foster children in the future.

  • I work in a group home for Schizophrenic residents and it is a non-degreed position. We can't do therapy with the residents, but we do spend a lot of one on one time working with them teaching them life skills and to be able to live on their own again. If there is any kind of large mental health agency around you I'm sure they will be able to direct you towards something.
