If you are in early labor....?

Does that mean you most likely will not have to be induced?

  • I don't think they have to induce labor if you are already in labor.
Unless, maybe, you are in false labor and they find a problem that makes them think it is best to induce.

  • most likely you would not have to be induced anyway, if you have a good provider who only augments/ induces when absolutely necessary and when it's in your best interest and your baby's best interest. but if you are really in early labor, you would definitely not have to be induced. some doctors would try to augment your labor, like say you aren't progressing fast enough, so give you some pitocin but i wouldn't let them do that unless there was a real reason. but most likely you won't have to worry about that and you will just go into active labor naturally :) gl!

  • Unfortunately, then it's called "augmentation."
No matter, if you don't want it, decline the offer.

There are helpful ways to get labor ramping up again if there is a "break," so moms can avoid drugs if they want.
It is common for many labors to break, actually.
