What kind of Booster seat is more safe for my son??

I have a 4 1/2 yr old and I am looking into purchasing a booster seat for him. What booster seat is more safe for a child of my sons age ( 4 1/2 yrs and aprox 40 lbs). Should I purchase a plain ol' booster seat or a booster seat with the head rest??

  • If you want a higher weight harness seat, the Apex65 goes to 65lbs and is a hell of a lot cheaper.

That said....my 4 year old is in a backless booster and he's doing fine in it.

  • The safer booster seats are the ones that will harness him.... Graco Nautilus runs about $150, will keep him in a 5pt harness until 65lbs, and then booster to 100lbs... Boostering your child isnt a milestone... Its a step DOWN in SAFETY. I will never understand why people are always in such a rush to get their kids out of CHILD RESTRAINT DEVICES... ya know.. the things that will save your childs life in a wreck... such a nuissance.
If you insist on boostering, then go with the Graco Turbo Booster.. and a backless booster should not even be an option for you yet.
