How do i get the wrinkles off my curtains?

They are dry clean only- just bought them but they were folded in the packaging and the fold marks are really prominent

i put them in the dryer on "no heat" and it did nothing, so i put them in with heat and they smelled like they were going to catch on fire- whoops

so i just hung them

anything i can do to make them straight? it's been almost a week now still wrinkled

i can't remember the material- it's thick though some sort of energy efficient thermal crap- probably cotton poly but i'm too short to reach the tag

  • You can spray them lightly with cold water (just use a clean spray bottle) just til they're damp, then carefully fold them along the pleats, and tie them with strips of white cotton fabric (like torn sheets or cut up t-shirts) --you want a fabric that won't bleed anything and that won't bind them too tightly (to avoid adding a whole other set of wrinkles). Tie them near the top and then every foot or so down to the bottom. Let them dry for a couple of days like this, and they'll be wrinke free and look pressed when you untie them.

An extra set of hands helps, 'cause it's hard to fold, hold and tie alone.

  • I would take them to the dry cleaners and see if they could press them.
