Partial hysterectomy?

Has anyone had this done?
How did you feel after and are you glad you did it or do you regret it?
How long should I have my mom watch my child after the surgery?
Will I need someone to take care of me? How long?
( thru vagina and belly button )

  • I had a total abdominal hysterectomy, so I can't really address your specific questions. Take a look at (or .org, I'm not sure) They have GREAT resources there!

  • I had a partial and I have no regrets at all.  I felt awful after my surgery but once I was on my feet the next day, I felt so much better.

If your child is young, you will need help looking after him/her for a while (maybe a couple of weeks) but you won't need any care as long as you follow your doctors recovery instructions to the letter.

My recovery time was 6 weeks but I had abdominal surgery so yours might be less.  Your doctor should tell you all you need to know before you are discharged from the hospital.
