  • Within about 6-8 months after being born a babies eyes will have changed to their permanent color. If they're still blue after 8 months, then they'll stay blue.

  • My daughters were never blue...always dark brown. 7 months later, still dark brown. They never changed.

  • my son has always had crystal blue eyes...he's 10 1/2 mos now, and they're still blue...
don't know where he gets them from...Hubby has brown eyes and I have green eyes...but apparently we both have a blue eye gene...

Usually they say around 6mos a baby's eyes will turn to their permanent color...BUT, I had blue eyes until I was around 13-15mos, and now I have green. So who knows...

  • The majority of babies will have their permanent eye color by 9 months of age. A small percentage will have their eyes change much later-there is no real age limit. My brother's eyes changed when he was a toddler.

  • This question makes me want to look into the genetics of eye color. My father has blue eyes, my mother brown. My brother has brown eyes and I have green. DH has crystal blue eyes and we have one brown eyed son, one hazel eyed son, and one blue eyed son. Also my father has black hair, mother is a brunette, I am a redhead, and DH is blond. We have one brunette, one redhead, and a blond. People are always asking if they have different fathers. I have to assure them that hubby fathered all three. I wish I had studied genetics so I could explain how one family can be sooo different in looks.

  • Try this:

This told me that my son had a 50% chance for brown eyes, and 25% for blue or green, and his are grey-blue exactly like DH.
