Do you get diarrhea when you have your period?

It seems like I get a touch of diarrhea or loose stools whenever I get my period or am about to. Doea anyone else experience this?

  • Yep,it's caused by the uterus contacting and aggravates the intestines

  • yes, unless i take ibprofen... its from bad cramps imo. because whenever I take ibprofens at the first sign of my period... i won't get it.

  • When I start or right before I usually have a big bowel movement. It's like the cramping is making my bowels move every thing out of me.

  • Yup- I get really sick. I try not to leave the house the first day of my period bc I am running to the bathroom every half hour or so for the first 24 hours. It sucks.

  • Wow this is so cool, well not that you all experience this but that I am not the only one. I have been trying to work this out in my head for years and I never could understand how bowel movements could correlate with menstruation. I always thought it was a fluke thing, I'm happy to know it is not! Thanks all above for responding!
