Did Nike rehire Vick as spokesperson? What do you think?

There are conflicting reports. Nike says no, but Vick's people say there is a deal. If there is a deal, will you be more or less likely to buy Nike products?

  • While I never agree with (fake) Yoshi there -- I would not buy from Nike unless they had a product that no one else had and we HAD to have. {which I can not forsee but you never know}

    Not to pick on Ladybugkisses76 specifically; but the fact that there is a majority of people out there; that for whatever reason will not be swayed from their routine or comfort zone is IMO why we have issues with making Capitalism work.

    Anytime a boycott is mentioned; you hear these same people talk of well you know I would support that but Co xyz is my favorite brand; or is right on the way home just too convienent to give up; I already know what I like there I'd have to figure out new sizes etc at a new mfg; etc...

    This is why places like Wal-Mart are taking over the country.

  • Although I don't agree with what Vick did and what not I wouldn't let the stop me from buying something from Nike if I like it enough.

    I rarely buy or not buy something because someone is getting paid to advertise for it. Or shall I say I don't run and buy something simply because so-n-so's face is on it and vice versa.

  • I think Vick should be killed, and I'd never buy from Nike again.

  • I haven't bought Nike in a long time. They earned a bad rap way back when, for child labor. Although, they have cleaned up their act in some respects and are now one of the top 100 greenest (large) corporations, they still haven't earned their way back into my good graces. If they had Vick as their spokesperson I'd be done with them.

  • No, Michael Vick endorsement would not stop me from buying Nike. If I like something then I will buy it. Michael has already been to jail for what he did. Let the man live his life.

  • I don't care who a company has for a spokesperson. I buy myself Nike shoes because I find them more comfortable than other brands. My DH finds New Balance more comfortable so that is what he buys. My oldest thinks Adidas are the most comfortable. My middle son has several different brands but will only wear his Skechers. My youngest son will only wear Crocs (name brand or generic).

  • A Renee - So if he were a convicted pedophile who had "done his time", would you feel the same way?

    And of course, he can live his life. Doesn't mean I have to give my financial support.
