How do I get my gel nails off?

What's the best, easiest, safest way to take gel nails off without paying the nail shop to do it?

  • you can buy 100% acetone at any beauty supply, walmart, or drg store. It is the same thing the salon will use to soak your acrylic/fiberglass/or gel nails off. To do it properly it helps to also have a very coarse nail file, soak then file away the softened product, when you have most of it can use the pad of your thumb to rub most of the rest off. After you soak them away...rub some olive oil into your nail beds, you should probably also cut and trim your nails down so they don't rip or tear because your natural nail is thinner after having the false nails applied. Do not use nippers or clippers to pry off the can tear the natural nail. Good Luck!
