  • Your uncle needs to stay away from the small loan companies; it will take him years to pay off. He may be able to get a bank loan, using the car as collateral.

  • Don't let your uncle around those people - they're sharks!! If you want to sell him the vehicle, then just have him pay you in installments - you can make it short term so that you get paid quickly - but if he goes to one of those places he'll only wind up in a big - HUGE - mess and you'll feel like you caused it - and you will have - trying to have him go to loan sharks - those places are for like 30 day loans - and if you don't pay it off in 30 days you have to refinance - and the amount keeps getting higher and higher - don't let your family do that.

  • Have the uncle give $500 cash up front and then have a loan for the rest.

  • I'm sorry but BAD ADVICE letting the Uncle make payments. Never do business with family. Every once in a while things work out alright but more often than not things go bad.
Don't go to the small loan companies either. Maybe this just isnt the time for your Uncle to buy something. He should wait until he can pay cash or he increases his credit score so that he can get a better interest rate.

  • If your uncle doesn't have cash, then he shouldn't get the Jeep. Or, if he's desperate for a car, and you don't owe anything on it, you could always gift it to him.
