Does God make you deserving?

Is it only one's faith in a God that makes them deserving of anothers love and respect? Is it only one's faith that makes them deserving of fair treatment byall? I am curious after reading the statement in the other question about gays not "Deserving" equality in our country.
Are all sinners undeserving of rights in this country? Or simply those sinners that you deem unworthy? Who REALLY is the judge in your life?

  • Jesus says that the most important commandments are to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and to love our neighbor as ourselves. His commandment to us- love each other. That is what I try to live my life by.

  • "God is the Almighty--God is the First and the Last--He is the Word "

What does this say about treating others with love and respect?

  • We should treat everyone with love, respect and equality because EVERYONE is precious and loved by God. Everyone has been made in His image, with His love!!!!

I personally believe in sin -- all different types. We all sin. But no matter what, God loves us. He is longing to have a relationship with us. I would never want to misrepresent the great love of God to a group of people. God offers His love and grace to everyone.

  • The first answer makes no sense.

Being HUMAN gives you the right to respect. What you choose to do with your humanity can make you worthy of scorn.

    Homosexuality is NOT a choice.

  • Oh, and I didn't really answer your first question, sorry : )

The Bible says that no one is deserving. But God is compassionate and He has made a way for us to come to Him when we confess our sins and repent -- Jesus paid the price for us.

Jesus is the one that is deserving -- He deserves all our love and devotion.

  • These scriptures show that God counts us worthy. May we who are saved always be counted worthy.

All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God. 2 Thessalonians 1:5.
2 Thessalonians 1:11With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ

  • my religion says you are supposed to treat others with kindness and that all men and women are equal except when it comes to piety/religious practice. God's book is the instruction and gives the boundaries. if God loves something you love it, if he hates something you hate it. Do you act upon things with hatred ... that's a different story.
