When do babies start to teeth?

My DS is 3mo. and 2 wks. old, but his adjusted age is 2 months because he was born 4.5 weeks early. I've noticed he's been drooling a bit more, but not excessively, and he's been really fussy lately. He's showing some signs of teething, but his gums aren't swollen and I can't feel where any teeth could be coming in. This is my first child, so I'm not sure. He hasn't been running a temperature, either.

Could it be too early for him to teeth because of his adjusted age or does it not matter?

  • My son didn't drool but did put everything in mouth as early as 3mos. And he didn't have swollen gums either.

  • my daughter started crazy drooling around 3mos, and she got her first tooth at 5mos and her second at 5 1/2 mos. it really depends on your baby, but drooling and chewing on everything is very normal at your babys age.
