Breastfeed/starting solids question

Do you pump before hand and then just put some breastmilk in the oatmeal and mix it or use water or what do you do?

  • i used water but i FF so i switch it up i use water sometimes and formula other times

  • Banana, sweet potatoe, or avacado are good first solids. You may want to wait until after 9 months for yogurt. is a good site for starting solids

  • I plan on using pumped milk, but I'll have to pump anyway to leave milk at home for the babysitter to use while I'm at work. If I wasn't going to pump anyway, I'd probably use water and see how she liked it. You could always express some milk by hand, you don't need to make a lot of cereal, especially at first.

  • Never mixed breastmilk into anything. Didn't do cereal.

    You can do it any way you want. Doesn't really matter. Just nurse before giving even one spoonful of solids.
