I have never been a fish owner and have been told that these fish are really easy to care for.
I knew someone would say this. NO you cannot put them in a vase with a plant. It is not enough room for them,. the plant keeps them from getting to the surface. THEY HAVE TO BREATH AIR. They do not eat the plants roots. This is a very poor choice of living for a Betta. They need a tank with a lid because they DO jump. http://www.bettatalk.com/betta_in_a_vase.htm http://freshaquarium.about.com/od/bettas/a/bettavase.htm http://www.aquariumguys.com/betta-fish-care-article.html
