my babys were in the nicu and were premature so what should they be doing at 4 month old

  • Your babies should be seen by a developmental specialist. They will need to be evaluated to see if they need PT, OT or speech therapy if they aren't already getting these services.

  • just adjust their age.
    My son was born almost 27 weeks (considered 27 weeks) so.. even though he was 4 months, it was adjusted to 1. Now, he's 16 months, and he's adjusted to 13 - so we look at a typical 13 month old development and move on accordingly.
    ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) is a free service that includes a free developmental specialist that do come in handy. They work with your babes to be on target to their "actual" age, but still keep in mind, that, had they been born on time, they would've been X months.
