why does my baby have to go threw this? How does it happen? Is she going to be ok? Will she have lasting problems? Will she be in a lot of pain? Is she in pain now? Why do people look at me diffrent when I tell them theres something wroung? Is this my fault? Can anybody help me?

  • Definitely not your fault. It is an abdominal wall defect unrelated to your pregnancy behavior. Fortunately it is not normally linked with other genetic defects.

    I'm so sorry that she (and you) have to go through this.

    Yes, she will be OK. You both have a few tough weeks ahead. Many children have no long term issues later. Focus on spending as much time bonding with her now and if she has future problems, let's not worry about those today.
