What's AG?

Someone told me to have my son tested for AG. What is that?

  • I don't know what AG specifically may stand for b/c different school districts use different acronyms, but if I was to hazard a guess, I'd say maybe Advanced/Gifted. If your son is over the age of 8 and is bored & unchallenged by his current academic placement, you can request that he be evaluated for giftedness and the school has to do it. Once he's been evaluated and if he qualifies as a gifted student, then the school should create a gifted IEP for him and provide him with enrichment courses that are appropriate to his intellect.
