  • Not really, sounds like it coud be contact dermatitis, or just a regular virus. My daughter had a virus a couple of months ago, and her dr. said it is NORMAL for her to develop a rash a long with the fever. Do a google image search for chickenpox and compare it to what you LO has!
    Here's some info on chickenpox.
Hope your little one feels better soon!!!!!!

  • did she not have the vaccine? Go to the walk in clinic they should accept your insurance, could she have eaten something she was allergic too--shrimp or shellfish? Depending how high her temp is over 102 and I would go, if not, maybe she will sleep it off tonight, good luck!

I am also worried because i have an 11 month old son.... Isnt it worse for him to get it, being so young ?

  • chicken pox generally starts with a fever and then you get the bumps which don't really have a rash like look, there would be just little single bumps on different parts of her body and then they'd spread. If it is the chickenpox it's not the end of the world the vaccine doesn't protect them all of the time anyways, just put socks on your daughters hands so she can't itch and quarantine her to her bedroom. It'll suck for her for a few days but she'll be fine.

  • look closely at the rashes and see if you can see anything that looks like little puncture wounds. If she was bit by a poisonous spider it could cause her to throw up and get splotchy spots but probably only around where she was bit. She could be having some sort of allergic reaction to something. It doesn't sound like chicken pox. That most always has a fever. Watch her breathing. If she is having an allergic reaction to something and it is causing splotchy spots all over her body it could be a systemic reaction that may affect her breathing soon. If she is having trouble breathing or develops a wheeze or becomes confused take her to the ER. She may have just also gotten into a plant or something else that is giving her the contact dermititis rashes in different parts of the body. The vomiting may not be related, especially if it has stopped.
