  • under 2 must be a genius! I know there are people who can do it, but with boys I think you have better luck closer to 3!

  • let them watch! kids want to be just like their parents. celebrate when they do use the potty, also. or make it a game.

  • We had a little potty in our house from when our DD was about 15 months old. We let her play with it, move it from room to room, hide it... .whatever she wanted. We do not believe in training so we just let her take the lead. At about 18 months she took interest in actually sitting and trying to pee on it. SHe peed a couple of times, then lost interest. She did this again around the age of 2. She lost interest again. And then a little before she turned 2.5, she went pee on it and then never stopped. She then wanted to move to the big potty. She also "trained" her self at night at the same time. We never brought her to the potty or made her sit on it every hour like some do. We let her do everything in her own time. "Potty Training" was the easiest thing we have ever done. I would highly recommend the "let them do it in their own time" method.

  • the best thing i have heard that works is let them not wear pants. or a diaper. keep the potty accessable an when he/she starts to pee or looks like they are going to poop run them to the potty. also writing down when they go now like prev poster said. and take them to the potty right when they wake up.
