3yr old has itchy feet and ankles only at bedtime...anyone heard of this???

My 3yr old daughter has been having itchiness on her feet and ankle-area only at naptime & bedtime. She has mosquito-looking whelps that she scratches frantically...again, only at naps & nighttime. I have washed her sheets and checked for anything that may be biting her, and still the symptoms are there. Her hands and mouth are normal with no lesions. Anyone heard of this??? Please help!

  • See your previous question exactly like this for my answer. Also? a sand box in your yard tends to have fleas and no-see-um's in it as well

  • i was gonna say bed bugs too but they dont come out much in the day so they wouldn't bite her at nap time- does she wear socks to bed?

Great idea about the socks! I'll try that!

  • Maybe they itch all the time, but she doesn't think about it till bedtime/naptime when she's calmed down and has time to think. It might not have anything to do with her bed, maybe its an allergy to grass or something she's walking through, or maybe carpeting.

  • Scabies would not happen just at bedtime, bedbugs seems logical.
Get a flashlight and look around the edges of the mattress carefully. You are not looking for bugs, just black dots. That is the feces of the bedbugs. Also it could be an allergy to something else.
Are you SURE they are only on her feet and ankles?
You know this could be restless legs syndrome. Sometimes it makes you feel as though stuff is crawling and you scratch it.
