  • the one thing you have to think about is that girls talk sooner then boys. boys are more reluctant to talk. my son is about 21 months he knows his whole alphabet (when he sees it) all his colors and hes startin to get the numbers..but he doesnt just talk..his cousin haily that is 4 days younger them him is talking like crazy asking questions and she knows exactly what she wants all the time. hell get it eventually..just needs some more time

  • The whole "girls talk sooner than boys" is bologna. It's a hasty generalization and not always true.

At two he should be saying 50 words and starting to use 2-3 word phrases. Have the parents had him evaluated for a delay? He should be. It's not your place to say/do anything though. Keep working with him as best you can.

Don't speak for him. If he wants his cup, he has to make a sound at least close to "cup" before he gets it. (for example)

  • depends on the child some learn faster than others. i know a baby that is 22 months old and when asked on a map where any state you name is he can point it out, the only one he still has problems with is new hampshire and delaware, he talks alot and is very very advanced. meanwhile my boy only says a few things, but slowly getting there.
