  • I taught myself Lamaze by reading the book. I'm sure there is a video now. My dd took a lamaze class at the health dept. Learning breathing techniques can keep you in control and out of pain. That's not a waste of money (to anon 12:40)

  • Waste of money??
It depends on what a person wants out of her birth experience.
If she wants to find ways to avoid unnecessary risks, have the safest birth possible *AND* enjoy it too, anything that educates her & reduces her concerns can help!

Not just Lamaze, specifically, but all kinds of birth classes (Bradley, waterbirth, birthing from within, Hypnobirthing, HypnoBabies, etc.) and reading and normal birth videos... many things can contribute to a woman gaining confidence and knowledge.

    Moms wonder:
    What's birth like?
    Does it hurt?
    Does it *have* to hurt?
How can I make it not hurt?
    What should I expect?
Do I have to be cut on my bottom?
    When can I say no?
etc. Answers can be found out through Lamaze or any of these options.

I have lots of resources and info if moms need anything, let me know! :-D

BTW~ having a birth doula is another great way to help yo
