  • is it a bright red? or a dark red?
If it is a dark red you need to go to the ER because you might have internal bleeding.
If it is a bright red you might just have anal fissures and you should schedule a Dr.s appointment.

  • Could it just be from hemmeroids? Do you have to get treatment for those, or can you just use over-the-counter?

  • If it is almost black and look like coffee grounds then its like internal bleeding. If its bright red its probably nothing to worry about. Maybe a slight tear in your anus from a big poop. Thats what I tell my patients.

  • I would think it's either a fissure (a tear) or hemerroids. Both are very common but, it would be best to talk to your doctor.

  • Try over the counter hemorrhoid suppositories and cream. If the blood is bright red then it's most likely either hemorrhoids or a fissure. Make sure you get a ton of fiber and drink a lot of water so your stools aren't hard. If it persists and is painful you can go to the dr. and get them removed.
