Can I go into labor without losing my mucus plug yet or having bloody show?

I have asked a couple times about bloody show and losing mucus plugs because I still don't really understand what those things are or what they do, but can I go into labor without those things happening?

I'm 35 weeks and 2 days.

  • Yes, you can! Not everyone has those things happen before they go into labor

  • I don't remember ever losing my mucas plug either and the only time I had bloody show I was crowning, so I'm glad I didn't wait for those signs, lol!

  • Yes you can, i never saw the mucus plug or bloody show with my first, i can only assume it came out sometime during labor. The plug is not an indication of labor starting soon anyway, some women lose it early and it regenerates, some lose it in the weeks/days prior to labor and some lose it during labor. It doesn't mean anything.
