I live in nyc and I am looking for a new doctor for my 8 month old that is not forceful with shots..

last vaccine he had made him sick and i am terrified of more.

  • The best thing to do is call around and ask what their policies are on vaccines. Now, most docs do say they are for vaccines. What you are looking to hear is something along the lines of we work with each patient and her needs, and are "willing to discuss alternatives.". Discuss that your child may have had a vax reaction, and see what they say. A doc that is NOT alternative schedule friendly will try to tell you that there wasn't a reaction. A doc that is alternative schedule friendly will be interested in the details, and probably suggest delaying shots for a year or two.

  • You could see if there is an Attachment Parenting (API) group in your area. Also, has a "tribal" board for your area; you could ask there.

    NYC is a really difficult place to be a non-vaxer, particularly when it comes to school exemptions. You may want to consider moving out of the area or even the state before your child reaches school age.
