  • Yes, they start eating table food. Peas, cooked carrots, grated apples, anything you eat that is cut small and tender should do the trick. Cherrios. bananas, even a glob of mashed potatos they can navigate to their mouth. Avoid that stage stuff in a jar, it is expensive. pick up a couple cheap shower curtains to put under, and one to go in the washer. Keep your eye peeled for a bowl with a suction cup on the bottom so it can't be flung off the tray when they start using a spoon. I NEVER could find one when I needed one! Good Luck on the table foods.

  • Yes he is perfectly ready for table foods. You can give him banana chunks, steamed apples or pears, soft chunks of peaches, green beans, baked squash or sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cut up french fries, boiled chicken, soft bread, crackers, there's quite a bit of stuff you can give him. Stay away from grapes, hotdogs, popcorn, stuff like that because they are choking hazards. Avoid honey for another couple of months because of botulism, and be careful with introducing things like strawberries and seafood because of possible allergies.

  • banana, avocado, tofu, baked sweet potato, cooked beans, zucchini .The best book on feeding babies, toddlers and their families is called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. You should be able to find it at your local library. There is some great information on the website: http://www.superbabyfood.com/
