Girl Scouts, Any leaders/co-leaders willing to offer advice to a new Daisy Leader?

Hello, there, I am totally new to being a leader to GS and just wanted some basic info from other GS leaders and co leaders:

#1 How long and how often are your meetings?

#2 How big is your troup?

#3 How much are your troup's dues yearly?

#4 What's the hardest part about being a leader?

  • we have a co op troop.the girls are 5th grade and fading fast.the meetings are about 1 1/2 is about 12 girls.the troop got smaller this yr.we seem to use the money we get through the cookie drive.i can say i think the best thing the girls did was the hikes through the woods.there are girl scout trails.they are fun.there is always one girl...the key is to control that one girl and you seem to have the rest of the troop.we do alot of badges.there was one aggressive mom that screwed it all up.advice.patience and control.plan it out every week.and what we do every once and a while is the moms would all get together and talk about the up coming meetings...

  • #1 How long and how often are your meetings?
We meet every week for 1 1/2 hours. We have juniors though. Last week as Brownies, we met for one hour every week.

#2 How big is your troup?  We have 5 girls. Last year, we had 8.

#3 How much are your troup's dues yearly? We collected $10/month until our cookie money came in. We've been going off cookie money since March. No new dues for this year.

#4 What's the hardest part about being a leader? Keeping everything organized.

#5 Any advice? Make the other mommies help. If you do everything, they will sit back and let you.

P.S. I am looking to step down next year. 2 years is enough for me and I want someone else to do it.
