10 day old has alot of gas what can i do for him?

  • Try some mylicon and eliminating some of the foods that are causing the excess gas.

  • Take his knees and push them into his chest gently this will help him fart.

  • Put him on your lap face down and rub his back in a circular motion. Don't be afraid to rub hard, he won't break.

  • Mylicon (the Target generic gas drops are just as good and way cheaper) and do his legs in a bicycle motion. It is true the breast milk is less gassy than formula. Mine had terrible gas even though I BF, but I'm sure it would have been way worse if they were FF.

    If you really wish to BF, it is not too late to relactate unless you're a breast cancer survivor or have some other extremely serious issue. If you still want to try to BF, feel free to message me or any of the other BFing pros here and join some BFing groups.

    If BFing is completely out, be sure you NEVER shake the formula bottles, instead stir to mix. Also, I found that the WalMart Parent's Choice formula produced a lot less bubbles and gas than the pricey brands.

  • gas drops...bicycling his legs. Stuff like that worked on my kiddies.
