How does this work?

Speaking hypothetically: You make $14/hr and have a family of 4. You suddenly add 4 more members to your family all at once, and your wages get cut in half. Now you make $7/hr and have 8 people to feed, house and clothe. Hard? Impossible?
This is what our government wants to do with the already stretched to the breaking point healthcare dollar, cover everyone and cut the price. It can't be done.
What do you think?

  • Well, thinking over these various aspects of the health care reform proposals over the past 10 or 11 weeks, it is obvious that the goal is NOT to benefit US citizens. Given the crazily-invasive details written into section after section of H.R. 3200, the goal is control and collecting money in new and inventive ways.

People ARE aware - right? - that the proposal differs from Canada's & Britain's in that, in ADDITION to raising taxes and adding various fees to pay, the proposal requires every citizen to BUY insurance (mostly from the gov't). ... are we paying attention? This means that, ON TOP OF the higher taxes which Canada & Britain see, Americans will ALSO be paying monthly insurance premiums. ... This IS NOT "free" health care.

You are right: it CAN'T be done. But since that has never been the goal of whose writing the legislation, that is not a concern for them.

It WILL fulfill its true purpose: collect more money

  • Do I think it can be done over night, no. Is it possible I think it might be. I posted earlier that there are things that we can do right now to get us to a point where we can look at providing everyone with some form of health care that is not going to bankrupt them.

  • Well, said. Too bad their are still people who will turn it around somehow. LOL

lori, if your idea doesn't include power for the Dems it isn't even on the radar.

  • I know its a stretch. Working together towards a common goal. I can also say the same about the Republicans, that they want control. In the end its the people in this country that are suffering. Caught between two parties that want the same thing, but they both want to fight over who controls it.
