At Thanksgiving, do you use fresh sweet potatoes or canned yams?

Another Thanksgiving question made me think of this.

Do you cook fresh sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving? How do you prepare them?

We use fresh. I either make a Chipotle Sweet Potato gratin, or Roasted Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprouts.

  • Fresh ones, thank you! :) Actually, I try to use fresh everything. The only thing I get 'help' with is the pie crust for the pumpkin, the actual pumpkin, and the bread for the stuffing. Everything else is made fresh for Thanksgiving.

Except for this year. My baby is due November 2, and I think we're going to be ordering dinner this year, I'll be in pain and too exhausted to cook. :*(
